From the Manufacturer
The Frye Company is the oldest continuously operated shoe company in the United States. Founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a well-to-do shoemaker from England, and family-run until 1945, Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers on both sides of America's Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-American war, and by Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. When home-steading drew adventurous New England families to the West during the mid and late 1800's many of the pioneers wore Frye Boots for the long journey. Today Frye remains true to its roots with its line of heritage boots, but continues to innovate as it introduces chic new handbags, pumps, and sandals to its collection.

Love, love love these boots!! I sized up 1/2 size and that makes them perfect with thicker crew socks. Very comfortable with absolutely no break-in required. Frye boots are super quality. So glad I got them!!

I purchased these boots a 1/2 size bigger, good thing I did, they go in easily and fit right, A beautiful boot, very well made but not as comfortable as I thought they would be, in 2 1/2 hours, my feet were killing me. Ugh! Will have to find a way of breaking them in without breaking my feet!! After months of wearing them, they are still uncomfortable, if I could return them, I would. Definitely, not worth the money I paid for them.

This boot runs true to size & the width is a real medium. The heel is a bit higher than I usually like to walk around in but they are comfortable. They do not have padded footbed so your feet can get a tired if you wear your boots all day as I do. I wear cushy socks or you could go up a size & use those gel footbed pads from Dr. Scholl that are pretty great. The leather which is high quality is stiff at first wear but they get softer with more wear. The brown is a chocolate brown. These boots are a classic yet trendy. They are great with jeans of any kind - skinny or boot-cut.
I HAD to have one black pair & one brown & I wear them so much I have already had the cobbler replace the heel. With care these boots can last almost forever!
