Twenty-five years ago Baffin Footwear began manufacturing moulded insulated and non-insulated footwear products. While traditional moulded boots are suitable for some conditions they are not ideal for cold temperatures. Baffin combines leading molding technology with a foam-based inner boot system, which creates a hybrid style of high performance footwear. This equates to more warmth, better fit, and superior comfort. Baffin uses an unrivalled 8-layer combination of materials that is used in their boots that are rated to -148 degree fahrenheit temperature range. These boots are quite tall, very warm and cute, but they run so small I had to pay to return them. I would recommend ordering a full size up and if are a 1/2 size order 1.5 sizes up not just 1/2 a size. So an 8.5 should order a 10 rather than a 9. You will have no room for your toes, let alone winter socks if you order an 8.

These boots are comfortable, and very warm - all that is advertised. This item got 4 stars instead of 5 because the first pair I ordered I had to pay to return because they were a full size too small - even with thin socks they were tight.

Haven't gotten a chance to give them a real test but when I opened them and tried them on I was very impressed. I ordered a size bigger than I usually wear per all the reviews and they fit like a glove. They really hug my legs and feet and I had to take them off after 5 minutes or so because my feet were getting so hot! As others have said, they don't give a lot when you walk but if that's your priority then these aren't the boots for you, anyway. These are for warmth, not fashion, though they do look very nice. Will post another review after we've gotten a good snow and I've had a chance to put them to the true test.
